About Thundermark

Thundermark is an American AI Think Tank established in 2013 to advise global businesses and governments on the development and implementation of comprehensive AI strategies, with past engagements as diverse as Palantir, Thiel Macro, TPG Growth, FedTech, Dubai Future Foundation and many others. Thundermark founder, Gleb Chuvpilo, is an MIT-trained engineer behind many successful startup launches (Palantir, Authy, Ride, Pager, Perpetua) and investments (Elementary Robotics, Seldon, Raptor Maps, Aromyx, OpenBionics, Synvivia, Brilliant, etc). For the first time in over a decade, we are opening our investment strategy to outside LPs. With the backing of star Silicon Valley investors, we are launching Thundermark Capital, a VC firm that will invest in early-stage enterprise AI and Robotics startups. Thundermark Capital is a member of the NVIDIA VC Alliance and is an insider in Y Combinator, MIT, Wharton, Goldman Sachs, and Palantir alumni ecosystems.

Origins

Thundermark was founded by Gleb Chuvpilo, an American serial entrepreneur and investor. Gleb has spent over two decades in AI, having earned a Master's degree from the MIT Computer Science and AI Lab and an MBA in Finance and Strategic Management from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Gleb started his career as a quant at Lehman Brothers and Goldman Sachs and spent years investing alongside Peter Thiel at his global macro hedge fund. Gleb was an early engineer at Palantir and then co-founded several technology startups, including Authy (YC W12, acquired by Twilio), Ride (funded by TPG Growth, acquired by Enterprise), and Pager (raised over $100 million from NEA, Lux and others, now servicing 28 million patients). Gleb is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), and he is proud to serve on the board of MIT delta v, an educational accelerator.

About Deep Tech

Deep Technology (Deep Tech) startups provide technology solutions based on substantial scientific or engineering challenges. The two Deep Tech areas we invest in are Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Robotics. We believe that Generative AI, Deep Reinforcement Learning, Humanoid Robotics, and Digital Twin breakthroughs together mark the beginning of the New Industrial Revolution, which we call the Cybernetics Revolution. Cybernetics was invented by Norbert Wiener at MIT in 1947, but it was unfairly forgotten. We think it will make a big comeback over the next decade. Cybernetics states that the role of machines is to amplify human intelligence, augment human decision-making, and, thus, improve human productivity. We are focusing our investments on human augmentation and automation: the former helps humans as a co-pilot via Intelligence Amplification with AI; the latter helps automate dirty, dangerous, and dull jobs with AI and robots. Here is a list of Deep Tech verticals:

  • Artificial Intelligence
  • Robotics
  • Blockchain
  • Quantum Computing
  • Photonics
  • Electronics
  • Biotechnology
  • Advanced Materials
  • Advanced Manufacturing
  • Space Tech
